Artificial intelligence has developed rapidly in recent years, and many are already using it when writing grant applications. Atli explained that the Icelandic Technology Development Fund is not opposed to the use of AI \u2013 it is here to stay. Most funds also allow it, as it is difficult to detect whether an application has been partially processed with AI, if it is used correctly. <\/div>
<\/div>
Responsible use of AI involves the applicant writing the text themselves but using the technology to refine it. This allows for fine-tuning of wording, ensuring that the application aligns with the fund’s priorities, and even assistance with calculations or cost estimates. <\/div>
However, it is important to have a \u201cconversation\u201d with the AI \u200b\u200band use it as a tool rather than letting it write the entire application. Applications are always stronger when the applicant\u2019s personal approach and original thinking shine through. <\/div>

Key elements of a good application are a clear definition of the project with a clear beginning and end. It is also important to consider what is not eligible for funding, as applications will be immediately rejected if applied for an ineligible project. In such cases, the applicant will not receive an evaluation form, but such a form can be extremely useful for ongoing applications and the development of the project. <\/div>
Finally, \u00de\u00f3runn emphasized the importance of setting up a grant strategy with a clear vision, purpose and goals. It also requires analyzing financial needs and preparing an action plan. <\/div>
The lecture was well attended and ended with a lively discussion, where \u00de\u00f3runn answered all questions with great clarity. <\/div>
We would like to point out that it is important to carefully review the terms of all development funds, as there may be different rules between regions of the country. <\/div>
