Atvinnubrú was well received at the Árnesingar Art Museum.

Participants of the Atvinnubrúr were invited to visit the Árnesingar Art Museum in Hveragerði, on Wednesday, November 6th.

The Árnesinga Art Museum is a partner of Atvinnubrú and has been working diligently to promote the project this fall in various ways. Director Kristín Scheving invited us to visit on Wednesday, November 6th and guided us through the history of the museum. The Árnesinga Art Museum is owned by the Árnesinga District Committee. All municipalities in Árnessýsla are members of the museum, which however dates back to a donation by Mrs. Bjarnveigur Bjarnadóttir and her sons in the years 1963 – 1986.

There is no cost to visit the museum located at Austurmörk 21 in Hveragerði and everyone can find something to their liking. The exhibitions are diverse and you can find works by both Icelandic and foreign artists, solo exhibitions and collaborative projects to name a few. Children are welcome and there are facilities to sit down to work, study or meet in the building.

It is safe to say that seeing is richer in history and of course it is always more enjoyable to walk into the exhibition spaces and experience sound, light and image firsthand. Those who do not live near Hveragerði or have difficulty getting around can, however, enjoy the works in another way. You can view the collection of the Árnesingi Art Museum by clicking here.

In addition, it is now possible to walk through the museum in a third dimension and travel through its exhibitions with the help of graphics. Be sure to visit here .

We send our heartfelt thanks to Kristín and the staff of the Art Museum for their warm welcome and encourage everyone to visit the museum and enjoy its delights.
