Preparatory studies to universities
Distance learning methods / Education Motivation (Menntahvöt)A matriculation degree (stúdentspróf) is generally a university entrance requirement, but three universities have defined a special preparatory programme for those applicants who do not have a matriculation degree.
At the University of Iceland, it is referred to as The Academy for Preliminary Studies (Háskólabrú Keilis), at the University of Bifröst, the preparatory programme is called the University Gateway (Háskólagátt), and at the University of Reykjavík, the programme is the Department of Preliminary Studies (Háskólagrunnur).
