About 800 students take exams at the University of Southern Iceland Examination Service during the fall semester.

The University of South Iceland operates an accredited examination service for secondary and university students in Fjölheimar in Selfoss.

It has been a busy month in Fjölheimar since mid-November when students started flocking in to take exams. December is the busiest month, however, as students are finishing their Christmas exams and all seats are filled. Now that the second half is winding down, things are starting to calm down, with retakes and make-up exams taking place next week.

About 800 students have used the examination services of the University of Southern Iceland in the fall semester, which is a significant increase between years. The students who take exams in Fjölheimar come from a variety of subjects and can see a fairly good cross-section of students from both upper secondary and university levels. For example, students at Egilsstaðir High School, East Iceland Vocational School, Akureyri Vocational School, Fjölbraut in Ármúli, Technical School, the University of Akureyri, the University of Iceland, Bifröst University, the Agricultural University, and Reykjavík University, to name a few.

We try to make sure that students feel comfortable when they come to us, but at the same time we follow the strictest rules for conducting the exams as they should be. For example, you may not have smartphones or watches in your possession, bags and coats must be kept outside the exam room, but there are usually similar exam rules in schools. Exam invigilators are on duty to ensure proper conduct in the exam rooms and to assist with technical problems when needed.

We are very pleased to see this number with us and we thank the students for their cooperation now and always. You can find more information about student and examination services on our website www.hfsu.is or by clicking here .
