In the last few weeks, we have been working on a framework for the project of a commercial bridge, which was officially launched today on our website.
The project aims to promote and strengthen the university community in the South by creating a platform for collaboration between university students, employers and the community in the South. We have had a good conversation with companies and institutions in the South and wish for more participants who see their benefit in participating. The project is a focus project of the Sóknaráætlun Suðurlands 2024.
We have been working for the last few weeks to create a network of links that will be used as a database for participants in the project. If you are a student looking for a research project or an internship, we can help you connect with the right person here in the south. The same can be said about companies and institutions. If you are looking for a student who could do an internship, summer study or research, we can help you to connect with a university student who transfers new knowledge into the working world.
We place great emphasis on cooperation and empowerment, but the intention is to provide easier access to future human resources for the southern economy and to create a platform for university students to enhance their employability alongside and/or after university studies. We see many opportunities here in the South and have collaboratet with the universities in Iceland. They see a great need for a platform of this kind, especially for university students from rural areas.
We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the employment bridge by clicking here . You can also contact the project manager Helga Kristín Sæbjörnsdóttir directly by sending an email to helga@hfsu.is .
