It was a big day today when the University Association of South Iceland and the Ministry of Higher Education, Industry and Innovation / HVIN signed a new three-year agreement, which has been in the works for some time now.
The agreement was drawn up in close consultation with the ministry and the Association of Rural Knowledge Centers, but the main emphases of the agreement are in line with the centers’ missions.
It is a sign of the times that the signing took place in cyberspace, but that environment has opened up avenues for rural residents to begin higher education and is therefore a basic theme in the company’s activities. There is also great emphasis on HfSu’s role in being a leader in innovation in its area of operation, as well as participating in shaping an innovation environment and entrepreneurship.
The University Association would also like to thank the outgoing Minister of Education, Áslaug Örna Sigurbjörnsdóttir for her role in the new agreements and wish her well in her future work.
