Nýheimar Day was held on Thursday, January 30th, where the activities of Nýheimar’s institutions and partners in Höfn in Hornafjörður were presented.
Of course, we were not missing out on Nýheima Day, as we ended up in a good and important collaboration on several projects with the Nýheima Knowledge Center.
We did not travel during the weather warnings and therefore used the technology and presented the activities of the University Association of South Iceland on Teams. It always takes the same amount of work to present whether it is remotely or in person. The preparation is the same, but it is undeniably more complicated to connect with the people on the other side of the screen when it comes to remote presentations and therefore more difficult to see whether full attention is being paid to the material being presented. That did not stop us, although it was certainly difficult to miss the coffee chat.

The speakers Helga Kristín and Pollý spoke about the activities of the University Association of South Iceland and discussed, among other things, the Hreiðrið Entrepreneurship Center, where Pollý recently took over as project manager. There are many projects in progress these days. These include an employment policy for the lower part of South Iceland, applications for foreign funds and the development of further projects in the field of employment.
The South Iceland Development Fund is open for applications until March 4th. Among other things, Pollý will advise entrepreneurs in the application process, both for domestic and foreign funds. You can order free advice by clicking here: Advice time.
We encourage anyone with an idea at any stage to come to our chat.
