The Ministry of University, Industry and Innovation has launched a new initiative called “Take the leap”. The goal is to increase the number of university students, and young people are encouraged to take the leap and enroll in university studies.
The focus in university education is changing and today it is much easier to choose a suitable course, mix different subjects and get a more open-minded approach to education. With this, the ministry wants to promote university studies and encourage, no less, young men to register for studies, but there has been a considerable shortage of male university students in recent years. Among other things, surveys have indicated that a fewer people graduate from university in Iceland compared to other Nordic countries.
All the universities in Iceland are united in one place, and it is both interesting and fun to look at what programs are available between the schools.
